Most ad problems grow because they're discovered late: a campaign that spent three days with no results, or a cost that doubled a week ago without anyone noticing. A daily Facebook ads report is the simplest fix: a short message every day telling you what you spent, what you got, and whether anything looks abnormal. This article explains what it should include, when it should arrive, and how to read it in two minutes.
Why you need a daily Facebook ads report
- Early detection: one bad day noticed beats one bad week unnoticed.
- A steady rhythm: you know the state every day without opening Ads Manager.
- Team memory: past daily messages form a simple record to look back on.
- Client reassurance: if a short version reaches them, they feel the account is being watched.
What goes into the daily report
The rule: as few numbers as possible, so the message can be read in two minutes on a phone.
| Number | Why |
|---|---|
| Spend per account | Is spend normal? |
| Results | What did we get for it? |
| Cost per result | Is cost within range? |
| Remaining balance (prepaid accounts) | Does it need a top-up soon? |
| Best and weakest campaign | Where to focus today? |
Everything else — ages, placements, per-ad performance — belongs in detailed analysis when needed, not in the daily report.
"Today so far" or "yesterday in full"?
There are two styles of daily report, each with its use:
- Yesterday in full: arrives in the morning with the final picture of a complete day. Good for day-to-day comparisons and client reporting.
- Today so far: arrives in the evening, say, and tells you how the day is going before it ends, so you can catch a problem before it eats the rest of the day.
Many media buyers prefer a "yesterday" report in the morning for planning, plus instant alerts during the day for urgent issues.
When should the report arrive?
Choose a time when you can act. A report arriving at 3 a.m. won't be read. Watch the time zone too: if the ad account runs on a different time zone from yours, "today" in the report may not match your day. Ideally the report follows your time zone or the client's.
Reading the daily report in two minutes
- Spend: is any account at zero or far below normal? It may have stopped. See Facebook Ads Not Spending Budget? Why It Happens and How to Fix It.
- Cost per result: has it clearly risen compared with recent days?
- Spend without results: is any campaign spending well with zero results?
- Balance: will it last until the next top-up?
- Decision: which account will you open for analysis today? One or two only.
Don't judge from a single day
The daily report is for alerting, not final verdicts. A higher cost per result on one day can be normal fluctuation, especially on small accounts. The rule: one bad day means "watch"; two or three in a row mean "act". For scaling or pausing decisions, rely on at least a week of data: Weekly or Monthly Ads Report for Clients? What to Send and When.
Should you send the daily report to the client?
It depends on the client. Some like a short daily message; others find it noisy and prefer a weekly report. Ask at the start. If you do send it, keep it simpler than your own version: spend, results and cost per result, with one sentence when something important changed.
Common daily report mistakes
- Too long: after a week nobody reads it.
- Mixing currencies into one number: the total means nothing.
- Building it by hand every day: it stops on the first busy day.
- No comparison: a number alone doesn't say whether performance is good or bad.
What a good daily report looks like
Picture a message that reads: account A spent its usual amount with 42 results at a normal cost; account B spent nothing since noon; account C has about a day of balance left. In ten seconds you know you need to check account B and top up account C — and that account A needs nothing from you today. That's the whole point: a report that tells you where to spend your attention.
Automatic daily reports in Raqeeb Ads
In Raqeeb Ads you choose the hour and time zone, and whether you want "today so far" or "yesterday in full", and the report arrives on Telegram every day automatically, with spend and results per account. You can also ask for a report anytime with the /report command in the bot, and for balances with /balance. A weekly report compares with the previous week and names the best and weakest campaign, while alerts every 30 minutes cover the problems that can't wait until tomorrow.
